Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said they will roll out a red carpet to those who set up Global Capability Centers (GCC) in Visakhapatnam, the largest commercial and industrial hub in Andhra Pradesh with a cosmopolitan culture and announced that Google will set up a mega data centre in the city next month.

He was speaking at the GCC Business Summit here. CII also released a report on model framework for the States at the meeting addressed by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The summit was hosted here following the Inaugural GCC Business Summit held by CII in New Delhi on July 14. The Visakhapatnam Summit focused on enabling regulatory support and ecosystem.

Naidu said that Google will make a formal announcement soon. He declared that the State Government will take decisions on real-time basis by those coming forward to set up GCCs in the city by offering a slew of incentives.

Exuding conference that Visakhapatnam will soon emerge as next big destination for investments in GCCs due to availability of conducive climate and ecosystem, he said the Bhogapuram international airport built by GMR Group will be ready in August next year. He said they are also working on providing metro rail connectivity.

The Chief Minister said a futuristic capital city is being built in Amaravati on the banks of the River Krishna with efforts on to make it a hub for AI.
